According to the widely circulating rumour on the pages of newspapers that Tope Alabi, the Gospel singer, duped an American recording label has generated lots of surprises and reactions. It is known that Tope Alabi is one of the prominent and highly rated Nigerian Gospel Singer that has maintained decency in her chosen career.

The source earlier had it that Tope Alabi, duped the American label millions of dollars for a proposed musical album. The inability of Tope Alabi to fulfill the agreement after the payment made the record label write a petition to Nigerian Police who invited Tope Alabi for interrogation. The source further explained that this official invitation made the singer to run away from the Country because she intentionally duped the American musical label. Another source had it that Tope Alabi employed the services of herbalist to intervene in this matter as many rituals were carried out but it all proved effortless.

Tope Alabi commented that the head of this American label, Mr. Tajudeen Bioku, is a dubious human being and all his claims of dupe was just an act of senility. The pretty looking singer made it known that the proposed album was released under his label titled Angelimi. But his refusal on the total payment of the agreed bill over the album was not met while Mr. Tajudeen Bioku always pressurizing her to shot Angelimi video. After a while, Tope Alabi claimed that if the above named man could not pay the money, he should assist her to use the money in purchasing some musical instruments but Mr. Tajudeen failed to show up.

On the police invitation, Tope Alabi defended herself stating that she did not run away because the allegation was a false act to tarnish her brand image. She said after narrated other parts of the story, the Nigerian police was surprised and blamed her for not honouring the invitation earlier. In her interview with a Yoruba magazine, she called the American label a fraud who uses every opportunity to defraud people of their hard earned currency. Tope Alabi challenged the man if his claim was genuine, he should come up again. Even the singer said the media houses that posted the wrong informations on the internet over this issue, have apologized and his lawyer has also tendered a due apology for acting on wrong informations.
