The success of Nigerian Fuji music is attributed to the total handwork and perseverance imbibed by the founder of this genre of music. Fuji music was carved out of the popular Islamic music known as “WERE”. The “were” music is commonly found among the south west Nigerian Muslims which is usually practice during the Ramadan season. It is used as a tool to wake- up the faithful Muslims for fasting process. It was this “were” music metamorphosed into popular Fuji.
In Nigeria, more than thousands of people engage in the commercial aspects of Fuji music, some of these talented individuals who plies their trade in Fuji have been described as rascal, and possessed the radical attitude in their various capacities. Many experiments were carried out in order to achieve Fuji music in its original form. This is to ensure that Fuji music was totally separated from other genre of music all over the world. It was formerly argued that the early Fuji musicians infused at least 80% lyrics and styles of other genre of music before arriving at a real Fuji music rhythms and lyrics.
Gradually, with a lot of efforts and influence the existence of Fuji music came up and lively as many Fuji artistes releasing hit albums in numbers. These efforts and determinations made Fuji music to be more acceptable which became No 1 in its form.
The contributions of Fuji music in the society at large are noticeable because the likes of Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, General Kollington Ayinla, Akanmu- Epo Akara, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal used Fuji music to correct some abnormalities which occurred in the society at a various level. They all stood as music activists, fought through their music and make sure that the poor masses interests are govern. Sikiru Ayinde Barrister recorded his first album in the early 50s and since his inception into the music; he has being able to record more than 120 albums and with a lots of numerous awards. This is an indication of determination and tenacity to protect the interest of Fuji music and the future generation of Fuji artistes.
In the same vein, General Kollington Ayinla did very well with a lots of hit albums to sustain the Fuji music from been push away by other genre of music in Nigeria.

In the modern days, the seasoned Fuji artistes are on the verge to tarnish the image of the most commercial value music in Nigeria “Fuji music” which may soon be drags into the mould. They have created a lot of controversies which are now trailing the format of the music itself.
The likes of Pasuma Wonder, Saheed Osupa, Sule Malaika and others are reaping more in creating one battle or the other. The battles which have been described as the show of shame may harm the existence of Fuji music in the nearest future. The battle which has not produced any land mark of achievement neither any foreign recognition compares to their founders.
It will be re-called that more injuries and attacks have been recorded as a result of arguments aroused among their fans which threaten to do a great damage to Fuji music if cautions are not apply. The recent installation of Saheed Osupa as the king of music raised an eye brow and splitted the Fuji house into factions. This battle of hypocrites is worsen day by day and has got to a point where Fuji artistes could not sing a valuable lyrical content of Fuji music. In some of their recent album and live CD shows, it all contains abusive, vulgar lyrics and nonentity attitude.
In this process, Fuji music may lose its originality content and can be terminated from other genre of music. Extreme damage has been done to Fuji music because hit album are no more in the market, new Fuji artiste have not emerge which may set the music on total destruction. The Fuji fans have no choice than to rely on the past glory of Fuji music.
Moreso, large percentages of people have blamed the ineffective management of these Fuji artistes which could be the source of their regular public show of shame and unprofessional attitude.
Recently, some top leading Fuji artistes are leaving behind what they are known for and jacking into hip-hop music which consist lots of musical techniques. Such Fuji artistes includes: Obesere, Pasuma, Osupa, Muhri and Remi Aluko. This new trend can totally ravage and desolate the existence of Fuji music.
Although, these Fuji musicians may possess talents in hip-hop music, but they shouldn’t have diverted totally into hip-hop because Fuji music remain the brand face of Nigeria music. The popularity and acceptance of hip-hop in Nigeria was supported by Fuji artistes.
Mixing hip-hop contents with Fuji music may not be a bad idea. It is a welcome development to make Fuji music more acceptable among the social elites.
